- Can lip filler be dissolved?
- Yes, if it's hyaluronic acid filler — which covers Juvéderm, Restylane, Kysse, RHA, Versa and most lip and face filler used in the US. An enzyme called hyaluronidase breaks it down, usually within days. Permanent fillers like PMMA and biostimulators like Sculptra cannot be dissolved this way.
- How much does it cost to dissolve filler in Austin?
- At The Wellness House it's $200 a vial, against a regular price of $500 or more, and most people need one to two vials. You'll know the likely number before we start, and if we think one vial will do it we won't sell you two.
- Will you dissolve filler that someone else injected?
- Yes, and a large share of this work is exactly that. You don't need to tell us where you had it done, and we won't ask you to. Bring us the face you have and we'll work with it.
- What is filler migration and can it be fixed?
- Migration is filler that has moved beyond where it was placed — most visibly as a shelf or shadow above the lip border, or a puffiness that doesn't match the lip underneath. It's usually caused by too much product, product placed too superficially, or new filler layered on before the old had gone. Dissolving is the fix, and it's the right first step before anyone places anything new.
- Does dissolving hurt?
- It's a series of small injections, comparable to having filler placed. Topical numbing is available. The swelling afterwards surprises people more than the appointment does — it can be more dramatic than the original filler, and it settles within a few days.
- How long before I can get new filler?
- At least two weeks, so the swelling fully resolves and you can see what you're actually working with. Refilling too soon is how people end up back where they started. If you want a new result, we'd rather build it properly on a settled base.
- Will dissolving make my lips look deflated or saggy?
- Usually your lips return to how they looked before filler, not worse. Skin is elastic and most people have had filler for a few years at most. If you've carried a lot of volume for a long time, say so at your consultation and we'll talk honestly about what to expect.
- What if I'm not sure dissolving is what I need?
- Come in and let us look. If we think the answer is dissolving, we'll say so. If we think it's a small correction, or waiting, or something else entirely, we'll say that instead — even though it's a smaller appointment for us. There's no charge for the opinion.
